What are Svenge? Moroccan donuts!

I stopped by Zingerman’s Bakehouse on Friday, and found something new – Moroccan donuts! Called Svenge. They’re my kind of pastry – the dough is not sweet, but it’s chewy and airy, almost like Paesano bread, except fried and then covered in crunchy Demerara sugar. Yum! I look forward to a taste comparison during the Morocco trip in March. -Jillian
