Some, like myself look to find our heritage. As my wife is fond of saying, “it is the land of your peoples.”

But is Sicily is more than that. It is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and is a treasure trove of culture, history, natural beauty, and food that draw visitors from all over the world.

At Zingerman’s Food Tours it is about the food! We have been taking guests behind Sicily’s culinary scene from our start. As one of our first tours 20 years ago, it continues to draw us back. And for dessert there is the cannoli, a crunchy pastry filled with sweetened ricotta and adorned with pistachios or chocolate.

Sicily is also home to a flourishing wine industry, producing unique table and dessert wines. The island’s volcanic soil contributes to the distinctive taste of local varietals.

As we traverse the island we will stop to savor these delicacies. In addition, along the way you will experience its stunning variety of landscapes, from the striking blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea to the lush mountains and the towering summit of the active volcano, Mount Etna.
